Spring has sprung in London, and emerging from underneath the clouds along with the sun, artists have picked up the paint and headed for the walls. Here’s a round-up of what’s been going on at Global Street Art, work and play!
Amy Winehouse Street Art Trail in Camden, London
Probably our biggest project for the month, we collaborated with the London Jewish Museum to produce the Amy Winehouse Street Art Trail. The trail featured 4 incredible murals by Captain Kris, Mr Cenz, Philth, and Amara Por Dios, each a celebration of Amy’s music and her life in Camden; a place she called home. The trail was featured in the likes of The Fader and Vibe Magazine – read more about the trail and the artists who worked on it in our blog post here, meanwhile, check out Amara and Kris’s collaboration on one of the walls below!
Interviews with artists from around the world
This month on the blog we were lucky enough to speak with 4 world-class artists:
Russian artist Alexander Blot spoke to us about his playful site-specific artworks,
Michal Maka from Poland told us about his first painting excursions with his brother,
French artist John Kviar gave us an insight into his signature invisible characters,
And we caught up with Italian artist Jupiterfab and looked at his work that seeks to highlight the use and/or abuse of technology in modern life!
#WallsProject
Our ongoing #WallsProject continues, and this month we produced some great videos of artists Candie, Marr, Nerone, Agwa and Olivier Roubieu painting in London. Check out Candie painting her colour-popping mural in Shoreditch below!
2+2=5? The Search for a Street Rebel
A highlight on the blog this month was Topher Mills account of his search for the elusive artist emblazoning the streets of Havana, Cuba with the ambiguous sum of ‘2+2=5.’ Read the entire blog post here to find out what he discovered!
That’s all from us for the month of March! Keep updated by subscribing to our YouTube Channel and following us on Instagram, where this month you can expect to see great artworks from El Jerrino, Hyland, Manu Invisible, Andy Council and many more!
